M&S kindly invited me alongside many other style bloggers and stylists to a pop up shop in London to preview the latest pieces.
The prosecco was flowing as we all rushed through the doors to eye up the latest accessories and floaty fabrics for that sun we’re all waiting for.
The dresses on display immediately caught my eye. Gorgeous linens, broderie anglais and beautiful florals (in my mind all i can think is i must start saving!) I can’t wait to get my hands on some new sunglasses and big earrings too, the accessories were amazing!!!
The lovely ladies in the Beauty corner were kind enough to touch up my exhausted face and tired make up. I’ll let you in to a secret – I’ve never had my make up done before!
It’s really never appealed but I thought I ought to finally give it a go at the age of 32 (I mean, my sleep deprived face needs all the help it can get!) And I was pleasantly surprised, I still looked like me – just a highlighted version.
After my face had been embellished, a few of us tried on some of the new Summer range and played modelling… every little girls dream, right? To have a go in front of the camera? You probably think “well, that’s what you do on Instagram anyway”, but it’s so different in the spotlight with a professional photographer. I felt awkward and my usual insta-posing did not appear to be forthcoming. Turns out I was a bit camera shy! Thankfully all my insta chums made it a lot easier by cheering us on, and the dress made me feel pretty special too.
It’s a lot harder than it looks, this modelling. Kate Moss, please send me your tips!
My modelling efforts were featured in the online Hello! magazine, after one of the online editors contacted me. But even more excitingly, my review of the collection was published too! I couldn’t believe my luck; my journey in the past year has been incredible, finding my confidence and style again, and finding the real me. But never in my wildest dreams did I think this would happen…
Since writing this I’ve taken my own advice and booked a holiday – mainly so I have an excuse to buy the amazing M&S swimwear!
